Gravel pathway with round planting areas and metal washtubs for planting strawberries

Jules at home

Good Sunday Afternoon!

Today started as cold and dreary, I thought it would be another day spent inside. We spent the morning at church and then it was off to lunch with my in-laws. Chinese, so good!

On the way home we discussed the plan for the afternoon. On the agenda for today was getting some strawberries planted that I bought last weekend. I should have known that this wasn’t going to be all we did! One thing leads to another and so planting strawberries turned into a whole thing!

We have always planted the strawberries in old wash tubs that we purchased years ago at an auction. (Auctions is a topic for a later blog, lol) I wanted to move them to the garden spot which meant dumping out the dirty and moving the containers. While resting between tasks we discussed our Clematis needing to be moved. We decided on a spot to move that and this lead us to a discussion about the Redbud tree needing to be dealt with! It had a really bad split on one of the main branches that needed to be cut off before it split and fell on its own causing more damage to the tree. While the hubby did that chore I decided to cut back by Butterfly bushes which lead to cutting back the unruly climbing rose and on and on and on……

Amazingly enough the strawberries did get moved and now I am going to go and take some ibuprofen and pray that I can get out of bed in the morning! Happy Sunday!
